Explo
rer Group: This group arranges visits to places of interest. Unlike the travel group, transport is not organised but car share can be arranged.
Upcoming trips are:
Wollaton Park on 17th June taking in steaming of the historic beam engine, a guided tour of the Hall and possibly an opportunity to hear the 18th Century organ being played.
Then on the 28th June, a group of us will be lucky enough to visit the BBC Nottingham Studios on London Road.

On the 15th September, 20 of us are visiting Harlaxton Manor near Grantham. This is a very special trip to a notable Jacobethan pile. It’s already heavily oversubscribed, though things can in theory change between now and September.

Yet more visits are planned to Crich Tramway Museum and the Toyota works at Burnaston, though space doesn’t allow me to cover everything.

Interested? Join the group and get circulated with up-to-date news!

Contact John Lewis or David Sibley 0115 9892360 to get put on the mailing list

French for Improvers - This group started in 2016 for complete beginners but has now moved on to 'improvers'. Contact Joanne on 01949 831899 or jmacollie@googlemail.com

I'd Like to Have a Go At That Group:
The aim of the 'I’d Like To....' Group is to give members the opportunity to try out new activities in a friendly and supportive environment. The current list of activities is given below and ranges from the physically and mentally challenging to the sedate that anyone can do. We know that it is not everyone’s cup of tea to Abseil down the side of a building and for that reason you only need to join in the activities you would like to do. We usually meet once a month taking on a different activity each time; there is no set time or date but we try to fit an activity when most people who are interested can attend.
Contact Jeff Peters to get on the mailing list: 01949 875406
